Starting Fresh With Young Adults

By November 12, 2021November 19th, 2021Church News

Good morning, church family! Today, I will be making a turkey after work. I know it’s a bit too early for those Thanksgiving turkeys, but I’ll be starting up my oven for a (slightly) different reason. TOMORROW, Saturday November 13th is the first Young Adults Potluck with North Suburban and Village Church of Lincolnshire! I am incredibly excited to start this partnership with these two EFCA churches as we look to build a strong community of 20-30 somethings that are focused on Jesus.

In the world we live in today, young adults are leaving the church and faith much faster than ever before. Recognizing this as an issue, and knowing full well that Christ-like community is a necessity to a firm foundation of faith, we as a team decided there needed to be space for young adults to stay within their intergenerational, Bible based churches but still receive community within groups our own age. So, going forward with VCL and NSub., we will try to meet once a month to foster connection and relationships, and encourage each other in our walks with Jesus. These activities will vary month to month, so if a potluck isn’t your cup of tea, be sure to keep in touch so we can update you on upcoming events!

So whether you’re a regular attender or just coming home from college for a visit, single or married, eighteen or thirty, you will have a space to join other young adults in prayer, encouragement, and fellowship. And we hope you will join us.
