India Re-cap

By March 28, 2014Church News

Dear church,

I missed you. As many of you know, I was in India for two weeks participating in the work God is doing there through preaching, teaching, and encouraging Christians. Thank you to all who prayed faithfully for my family and me. We are overjoyed to be back together again. God blessed the work immensely there and I am confident in saying it was a worthwhile and successful trip.

As I sit back in my office, working to process the last couple of weeks, I am struck with how different two places, cultures, and peoples can be while both are undeniably in need of the same thing: the Gospel of Jesus Christ. India is on track to become the world’s most populous country. Its economy is an emerging force. Already India is a significant presence in the global community and that will only increase in the coming years. It is an important nation and only 2.4% of its citizens are Christians. In short, India is a prime and strategically vital mission field.

This Sunday, I will tell you more about my work there under the banner of God’s Purpose in Every Generation from Acts 13:36. My prayer is that it will be an encouragement and challenge for us all. In the meantime, my family and I still covet your prayers. I am still struggling to make the time zone adjustment (India is 10.5 hours ahead) as well as trying to recover from the exhaustion of a non-stop schedule of preaching and teaching. I am looking forward to being together to worship our global God this Sunday! I hope you will make it a priority to be a part of our corporate worship.

For the sake of His name,
