Why do we need Alpha? It is unlike any other groups we have here at Our Saviour Evangelical Free Church. Why?
- Increasing numbers of people never set foot in a church, and are completely unaware of the teachings of Christ.
- We live in a world where many people are lonely and desire to build new friendships.
- There are people, in our own congregation, who’d enjoy, and benefit from being in a group that explores Christian responses to commonly asked big life spiritual questions.
Alpha is built to meet these needs!
What does Alpha offer?

- Eleven weeks of quality videos and discussions for our guests to survey the Christian faith.
- A place where people can build new friendships based upon respect and trust.
- Honest and open conversations between people inside and outside of our church. All are welcome: people of other faiths, people of no faith, those who are searching for answers to commonly asked spiritual questions, or who are just curious about other’s belief systems.
- A place where people can come to know Christ, or grow in their faith.
Remember! Everyone is welcome and no questions are off limits at an Alpha meeting! We seek to maintain a respectful, judgment free climate within this group, so that our guests feel safe, and so trust can be built. We want our guests to openly share their views. Alpha can be used evangelistically for those outside the Church, but it’s also a helpful tool to create a safe space for conversations about faith for those inside the Church. It’s run worldwide in many settings: homes, churches, cafes, restaurants, prisons, and more. Alpha is for everyone!
