Dear church,
I hope you had a chance to read the annual report emailed to you earlier this week. Praise God for all He did amongst us in 2013! Now, pray with me for fruit bearing in 2014. Coming out of our leadership retreat last weekend, we have a number of goals and plans we are excited to roll-out to you in the coming weeks. One of the best times to hear about these things will be at our Members’ Meeting on March 3.
This Sunday, we will be in a pivotal section of Luke’s Gospel. Perhaps of all the places in the Bible, the Garden of Gethsemane proves that God loves the people He created. If you struggle to believe that God loves you and want to hear definitive proof of that, I hope you will make it a priority to be in church this Sunday morning. Through the obedience of Jesus, our disobedience is reversed, and the punishment we should have endured is placed upon Him. It is the greatest exchange any person might ever be given and it is God’s free gift to all those who confess their sin and trust in Jesus Christ.
Lord willing, this will be such a good Sunday. I don’t want to ruin it for you now, but let me just tell you I’ve been looking forward to studying this passage together since we began Luke. It will be a meaningful Sunday to invite a friend who does not know Christ or someone who does not have a church home. If you know someone who wonders whether or not God loves them, invite them this week. Life with God through Jesus is great news and people need to hear it. Sunday will also be so encouraging for Christians. We will celebrate the Gospel together! I hope you will be there!
For the sake of His name,
Pastor Adam
