2013 Ingathering Project

By November 5, 2013Church News

Dear church,

On Sunday evening, November 10 we will join together for our annual Ingathering celebration. It’s a time to give glory to God and thank Him for His abundant blessing. The biggest blessing God gives us is life through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 says, “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” However, the Bible is clear that God’s blessings extend to all areas of life including our daily provision. We praise God for all of this and more at our Ingathering.

In response to His goodness, we select a special cause each year to sacrificially give toward. It’s an offering over-and-above our regular giving. Typically, this cause alternates between a special gift to an outside ministry and a project that will benefit our church family. This year, we have decided to merge those goals and ask God to use this special offering to reach those who do not know Christ by working in the lives of our college students. A new conference specifically designed to mobilize college students to frontier missions is being held over the Christmas break in Louisville, KY. The conference will feature world-class Bible preaching, Christ-exalting worship, and seminars led by international leaders, all challenging students to give their lives in worship and service to God. So that as many of our college students as possible may experience this ground-breaking conference, we will utilize the money raised through our Ingathering to subsidize the expenses of the conference for students who either call Our Saviour their home church, but are currently away at college or for college students who participate in the life of our church during the school year. Already, we have over 10 students that have committed to being a part of the conference with several others considering it. Pray for the students going as well as Pastor Brandon and Kaiti Myers as they lead this group to Louisville, December 27-30, 2013. If you would like more information about the conference, visit www.crosscon.com.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a relatively small amount of money and see God multiply it to accomplish great things. Can you imagine if just one student from our group made the decision to spend their life on the mission field? The few thousand dollars we hope to raise would result in 30+ years of front-line missions. If a few of these students commit a year or two after graduation to reaching an under-engaged group of people the impact would be literally eternal. I hope you will prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift to this unique opportunity.
